Getting Here:

The University of Limerick is located 4 km from Limerick city. Shannon Airport, located 30 km from the University of Limerick, services many destinations throughout Europe and the US. Please see the Shannon Airport website for further information.

Getting to Limerick from Shannon Airport

To get to the University of Limerick campus from Shannon Airport, you can travel by car, taxi, or bus. This link takes you to the map with directions to the campus.

Taxi: The airport taxi desk, located in Shannon Airport arrivals hall, will organise an airport taxi for you. It is open for all arriving flights. If you wish to book in advance you can contact the desk directly.

The approximate taxi fare is €45 (includes all passengers in the taxi).

Bus: The public bus service with Bus Eireann runs from Shannon Airport to Limerick City (€8.40 one-way, €13.20 round-trip), with a second bus (€2.10 one way) from the City Centre to the UL.

Getting to Limerick from Dublin Airport:

There are a number of commercial coaches going directly from Dublin Airport to University of Limerick.

Eireagle: Offer 8 coaches daily from Dublin Airport to Castletroy and Limerick City. Please see the following link for further information  www.eireagle.com 

JJ Kavanagh: The journey time is approximately 3 hours and there are 8 buses each day. Please see the following link for further information jjkavanagh.ie

Dublin Coach: Offer services from Dublin Airport to the University of Limerick and Limerick City. Coaches depart the airport every hour on the half hour with a stop at the Red Cow Luas Stop to change coach for the M7 Express Service to the University of Limerick. Getting to Limerick from Cork Airport:

Citylink and Bus Eireann both offer limited services from Cork Airport to Limerick City. Please see www.citylink.ie/timetables and www.buseireann.ie for further information.

Getting to Limerick by Train:

Irish Rail trains connect Ireland’s major cities. The train stations are accessible by bus from the major airports where you can get connecting trains around the country www.irishrail.ie
